Since 2014, Eric Christensen, known by the moniker Lookout Digital, has been sought out by major brands like Toyota and American Airlines to meet their retouching needs. Managing multiple projects at a time, he is well-versed in the challenges that arise when projects stack up, individual images have varying deadlines, and multiple stakeholders need to come into alignment before “final” is reached.

Before implementing verybusy.io in 2023, Eric had tried numerous platforms and means of collaboration. The primary method for obtaining retouching feedback from his clients was via marked-up JPGs or PDFs. For Eric, these approaches to collaboration led to long email threads and/or the use of auxiliary messaging platforms with his clients in order to keep projects moving. For him, it was a manual process that became increasingly difficult to manage.

When searching the marketplace for a solution, he knew he was looking for retouching management software with a gallery view of his projects and straight-forward commenting and markup abilities that he could easily and comfortably introduce to his clients. Specifically, he needed retouching management tool that would allow multiple stakeholders to share their input without a lot of friction. Further, he needed something with a price-point that made economic sense for his business.

Since implementing verybusy.io, one of Eric’s favorite features is the ability to create individual folders, enabling a degree of organization not present on popular platforms for retouching revision management. He can easily corral images into delivery folders, making it straightforward for his clients to sign on and download final files. He says that this is especially helpful when images are delivered in batches on different deadlines. In addition, he says that he “loves” the gallery layout of multiple projects, as well as the platform and email notifications that alert him of new activity in his projects.

When it comes to his clients, Eric says, “being able to check their comments off and export a new round, then being able to simply drag and drop [an image] into their project folder allows them to see updates in almost real-time.” In fact, he says that the ability to check comments off as he completes them saves him from the embarrassment of missing a comment, which can lead to clients feeling unseen or unheard. Additionally, to Eric, it’s an added bonus that verybusy.io enables his clients to upload specific references to their comments, enabling a higher degree of specificity for clients and greater accuracy in Eric’s work.

All of this has amounted to Eric being able to spend more time on the creative aspects of his projects as well as on acquiring new clients. Because verybusy.io is keeping track of rounds for him, he no longer has to manually manage this process which is a huge win when it comes to the billing process. In fact, Eric says that “it feels ‘old school’ now when I have to go through retouching feedback in a pdf…,” Because of the way verybusy.io has streamlined the process for Eric and his clients, his clients now specifically request that they use the verybusy.io on upcoming projects.
